Pathways

Brooklyn College follows the CUNY Pathways general education curriculum. The Pathways curriculum maximizes transfer credits for students who transfer from one CUNY campus to another.

About Pathways

The Pathways curriculum consists of three parts totaling 42 credits:

  1. Required Core (four courses)
  2. Flexible Core (six courses)
  3. College Option (four courses)

Your general education requirements depend on what year you entered Brooklyn College (see below) and your corresponding Undergraduate Bulletin.

Speak with an adviser from the Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success to discuss your choices within Pathways and to review your remaining Pathways requirements.

Student Appeals Process

Students who wish to appeal a denial or restriction of transfer credit should contact the Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success, 3215 Boylan Hall, 718.951.5471.

The City University of New York has established a process at the university level by which undergraduate students may appeal a denial or restriction of transfer credit for courses, in cases in which that credit has been determined through transfer credit evaluation at their college.

Students who wish to petition for course reevaluation at the university level must first complete the college’s appeals process through the Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success.
